Don Miguel Gascón's 2023 Malbec Reserva showcases the winery's dedication to crafting exceptional Argentine wines. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza's Uco Valley, this Malbec offers a rich tapestry of flavors. On the nose, it presents intense aromas of blackberry, plum, and a hint of mocha. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, featuring dark fruit flavors intertwined with notes of spice, licorice, and chocolate. Round tannins and a plush mouthfeel lead to a long, velvety finish.
The 2023 vintage is crafted from 100% Malbec grapes, reflecting the varietal's pure expression. The wine undergoes fermentation in upright tanks for one week at a maximum temperature of 85°F, with the juice remaining in contact with the skins for up to three weeks to foster optimal flavor development. After primary fermentation, it undergoes malolactic fermentation to create a smooth, round mouthfeel. Seven months of oak influence impart subtle brown spice notes.
