BERNKASTELER BASTUBE — Situated around the city of Bernkastel, which is more than 1000 years old, the Badstube vineyard has a gentler slope and richer soil than the other vineyards belonging to the Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler estate.
VINIFICATION
This long steep curved slate slope with a South-South-West orientation consists of mostly Devon slate residual soils with varying parts of topsoil and mineral stone.
TASTING NOTES
Attractive flavors of jellied citrus, ju-jube, ripe apple and quince mark this exuberant, open-knit Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Spätlese. This shows verve and cut, which keep it well-defined through the lingering aftertaste.
