Winemaker Notes
A new-generation vision. Amendment XXI has always been a dark brooding style of Merlot. In 2020, we started adding percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot to give it a more “classically” structure with exceptional purity and precision.
This 2021 vintage reveals tobacco and vanilla that hits you up front on the nose. A big bold wine that just grabs you wanting more. Black fruits on the palate with baking spices. Tannins are on the medium side with rich saturated fruit and a dash of expensive-tasting oak. This wine has a bold yet smooth finish.
