Winemaker Notes
Very deep cherry red in color. On the nose it has a remarkable intensity, the result of being a very expressive wine. Notes typical of its ageing in barrels appear and the aromas of black fruits typical of Tempranillo predominate. This vintage has excellent potential, which makes this wine evolve very positively in the glass. On the palate it is fleshy and with great volume, with a pleasant mid-palate and full of personality, the aftertaste is long and persistent.

The 2022 Emilio Moro is 100% Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero. Aromas of plum, soft herbs and a subtle touch of sandalwood present a direct expression. The palate is broad, smooth and creamy, with fine-grained tannins and a slight grip. Interesting in its expression, this wine fits comfortably within the more moderate style of Ribera.

The 2022 Emilio Moro Ribera del Duero is deep garnet in color and opens with inviting aromas of rustic spices, garden herbs, and dried peach skin. Brisk and vibrant on the palate, it reveals tart cherry flavors and a chalky minerality. A superb pairing with Rabo de Toro, the traditional Spanish oxtail stew, where the wine’s brightness and earthy depth echo the dish’s slow-simmered richness. One of the winery’s flagship wines, the 2022 Emilio Moro has more volume, more minerality, and more herbal notes than many of its other entry-level Tempranillos and spent 12 months in American and French oak barrels. The producer prefers to make its own decisions on aging rather than following the classic Crianza and Reserva model. Full-bodied, it has benefitted from a bit of time before release, expressive in dark cherry, dried herb, and fleshy tannins. Drink now through 2032.
