ROBINS
Laurent Mazeau inherited part of his family’s vineyards in 1985, when his parents René and Michelle retired after nearly 3 decades of running the estate and divided it among their four sons. Now sustainably farming and managing around 111 hectares of vineyards, Laurent’s Chateau Costis is situated in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux.
This medium-bodied red has a bold, aromatic nose bursting with notes of brambly berries, dried herbs, and a hint of cedar wood. On the palate we get juicy dark fruits and black currants with a subtly granite-y minerality, a hint of baking spice, and grippy tannins that give it great structure. We recommend giving this bottle around 30 minutes of air to relax those tannins and let the lovely fruit notes shine.
