as the totem of their journey, and highlights their commitment to expressing the

appellation
The Napa Valley is an expansive AVA with a variety of microclimates within its
hallowed grounds. The fruit for this wine came from Yountville, the birthplace of wine
in the Napa Valley as it was first planted by George Calvert Yount in 1836. One of the
coolest wine regions in Napa Valley, its long growing season and diverse soil
composition produces fruit of exceptional structure and complexity, known for
varietal wines that have the capability of aging well in the bottle.
vintage & winemaking
The 2022 vintage delivered low yields due to a heat wave that hit Napa Valley with
triple digits over a 5-day period in September, immediately followed by rain that
brought some much needed relief. Fruit remained on the vine for a few weeks once
the rain cleared, resulting in berries full of concentration with wonderful structure and
vibrant fruit-forward aromatics. Once picked, the wine was fermented in neutral
French oak, and left to age in the same vessels for 18 months prior to bottling.
tasting notes
A nose of fresh black cherries, dusty raspberries, cocoa powder, lilacs, and cool
minerals lead into unctuous layers of warm cassis, black raspberries, and currant.
The mid-palate is dense and expressive, full of fresh berries and exotic spices, all
leading to a soft and plush finish.
