This wine is perhaps the most important wine in our portfolio. It represents everything we believe in.
The first time I worked with Grenache from the Sta. Rita Hills at John Sebastiano Vineyard, my whole world turned upside down. It was wild, fresh and full of freedom. I am never one to take the easy road in my quest for original beauty. It is challenging to grow larger, more robust varieties like Grenache in this cool environment. With impeccable farming and appreciation for every point in the system, the teams do an incredibly delicious job growing fruit with immense heart and determinatio. A blend of Robert Rae Ranch, Peake Ranch, and Christy & Wise vineyards. Texture, aromatics and lift are always the goal. A singular representation of this gorgeous grape.
100% whole cluster fermentation, 45 days on skins, wild fermentation, aged in old barrels.
Sta. Rita Hills. 440 cases produced.

A beautifully light hue in the glass, this bottling begins with subtle layers of pomegranate atop crushed stone atop mustard green herbs on the nose. The palate his quite peppery and vibrant, as bay leaf and hibiscus flavors complete the scene. — Matt Kettmann (11/2025)
