Cooper Mountain Chardonnay 2023
W I N E D E S C R I P T I O N
There is more Chardonnay planted in the world than any other white wine on planet earth.
Considered to be both an easy-drinking, ice cube-worthy experience as well as the most
coveted, collectible wines. Cooper Mountain's story with Chardonnay begins at its founding,
with the winery's first plantings of Chardonnay in the volcanic soils that cover the hillsides and
mountains.
Cooper Mountain's signature Chardonnay is sourced from two of the oldest estate vineyards,
Meadowlark Vineyard and Old Vines Vineyard. Meadowlark Vineyard lies at 300 to 400 feet and
defined by volcanic soils. Cooper Mountain’s 10-acre estate vineyard, Old Vines Vineyard, was
planted on the north side of Cooper Mountain in 1978. Ranging in elevation from 500 to 650
feet, vines on this original site are self-rooted and dry-farmed. Also defined by volcanic soils,
Old Vines Vineyard produces wines of complexity and character.
Organically grown and biodynamic, Cooper Mountain Chardonnay is aged in 50% stainless
steel, 10% acacia wood, and 40% neutral oak. Fermented with native yeasts. No additives or
fining agents are used in crafting this wine.
