“I think it is the only time I taste the little-known Roscetto grape during the course of my work year. The Famiglia Cotarella 2019 Ferentano Cotarella makes good use of this indigenous variety to show the potential found within Italy’s vast genetic patrimony. This expression from 2019 is the best I have tasted so far. The wine shows beautiful clarity and density with a slightly off-gold appearance. With apricot, chopped nut and savory herb, it covers the palate in a steady and complete manner. Compared to the 2018 vintage that I tasted at the same time, this wine from 2019 offers even more depth and richness.” -Monica Larner
