WINEMAKING NOTES
FRUIT 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet
Franc, 0.5% Petit Sirah
VINTAGE The 2022 vintage was one of the earliest on record. Minimal rainfall and a warm Spring
led to early growth in the vineyard that continued right on through the summer
culminating in our earliest Cabernet harvest on record by 2 weeks.
HARVEST DATES August 22 – October 14, 2022
Average Degrees Brix: 25.7
WINEMAKING The fruit for this wine comes from both our sustainably farmed vineyard in
Rutherford, and from local vineyards. Each vineyard block was harvested and
made into an individual lot representing that block. The wines were pressed
off the skins from 10 to 35 days after crushing.
AGING Aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
24% new French Oak, 20% new American Oak
Blending was completed in Winter of 2023 and bottling took place in May
of 2023.
TASTING NOTES Ripe blackberry fruit characters are complemented by cherry and cassis on
the finish. Spice and vanilla notes are seamlessly interwoven through the
wine. A rich midpalate leads to a lovely lingering finish with just the right of
acid and tannin to keep the wine in perfect balance. While enjoyable upon
release, this wine will age gracefully through 2032 and beyond
