LA CREMA 2022 ANDERSON VALLEY PINOT NOIR
WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR VINTAGE
Anderson Valley had a relatively dry winter and was followed by a cool spring which delayed bud break and bloom. Throughout summer, ripening proceeded slowly during the long warm days. August and September brought record heats, but with our slow ripening nature of the 2022 vintage, the fruit was unharmed. Unseasonal rains brought much needed soil moisture and allowed our fruit to ripen at desired levels. Our 2022 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir harvest began on September 21st.
VINIFICATION COMMENTS
Sourced from three distinctive estate vineyards in the Anderson Valley. Soils in our vineyards are predominately weathered sandstone which have a moderating effect on vine vigor. Fruit is hand-picked and gently destemmed, with 70% whole berries in tank.
WINEMAKER COMMENTS
NOSE: Blueberry, raspberry, and black tea.
PALATE: Cranberry and plum fruit are complimented by subtle forest floor and exotic spice notes. Followed by integrated tannins and balanced acidity drives a long finish.
