Fourth generation vine growers, based in Passy-Grigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, Laurent took over the family operations in 1988, and moved it into sustainable viticulture: HVE (High Environmental Value); and VDC (sustainable Viticulture in Champagne). Their 11.4 ha of vineyards are focused on pinot meunier. This old vine (50+ years) PM comes from the clay limestone soils of Passy-Grigny. This bottle was based on 2019, with 20% reserve wines. It was fermented in stainless, with 50% MLF, before heading to bottle for 3 years. It was disgorged in May 2023 with 0 dosage. Tight and tart, with rhubarb, crunchy red apple across a cherry meringue core, kissed with oxidative notes, and tightened with pink grapefruit on the snappy finish. A fresh and pure look at pinot meunier, and ready for drinking now.
