Winemaker Notes
Tikka was Eric Lemelson’s Great Pyrenees dog who loved to patrol the perimeter of the Pinot gris vineyard. This wine is a tribute to her. This Pinot gris is sourced from the organically farmed Chestnut Hill Vineyard, Lemelson's highest elevation site at 1,000+ feet. By farming our Pinot gris at high elevation, it preserves the wine’s minerality and crisp nature. This wine shows bright pear, lemon peel, white peach, and white flower notes that flow into a long, mineral and citrus-driven finish. A good fraction of this wine was barrel fermented, helping to round out the richness and bring it into balance with the wine’s refreshing, acidic backbone.
