The 2014 Terra Gratia greets the nose with notes of fresh, ripe black fruit, subtle black licorice, and vanilla oak. On the palate, the wine opens up with a soft attack, layered with vibrant, fruit driven acidity red plum, and toasted coconut. The soft mid-palate gives way to a finessed, lengthy finish sustained by youthful tannins that ensure ageability.
37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot
Marciano's 2014 Terra Gratia is a terrific entry-level wine. Bright and focused, but with plenty of depth, the Terra Gratia captures the essence of the vintage and this site. Dark red cherry, floral and spice notes abound in this beautifully delineated, vibrant Bordeaux blend. This is an absolutely delicious entry-level wine from one of Napa's most exciting new entrants. The significant presence of Merlot adds juiciness, but the 2014 also has quite a bit of aromatic lift and finesse.
