Mark Ryan's 'Lonely Heart' is made from relatively younger vine plantings from the esteemed Quintessence vineyard on Red Mountain. The Cabernet Sauvignon, with gentle extraction, matures for two years almost solely in new French oak, amplifying its complexity. It offers notes of blackberry, cedar, and roasted coffee with a spicy nuanced finish. It's one of the best Red Mountain wines. Match its bold sophistication with a grilled, aged ribeye steak or fettuccine with a hearty Bolognese ragu.
