Dense, rather backward aromas of cassis, bitter cherry and black pepper, with hints of anise and clove. Fat and oily in texture, but the flavors of sweet, dark berries, tobacco and roasted coffee offer good verve. Finishes long, supple and on the sweet side. Tasty stuff." (Jul/Aug 05) According to the Wine Spectator: "Silky, with ripe blackberry, cherry and prune flavors that linger on the fine-grained finish. A solid wine that should get more supple with age.
