Padeiro is a nearly extinct grape native to, and only grown in, Vinho Verde. Its dark pigmentation gives this Rosé a deep-pink coloring despite minimal maceration time. Vinho Verde wines are light and bright with spritzy acidity and lower alcohol – this clocks in at 12%. I love them for being easygoing and approachable; they are, in fact, my ideal summer wines. Dom Diogo presents itself with a little sweetness, and a lot of strawberry, honeysuckle, and melon. The body is nicely creamy, and this Rosé is a perfect porch or picnic wine.
