TASTING NOTES:
The 2023 vintage has a deep purple color, not quite inky but getting close. Savory aromas of ripe dark fruits; marionberry and briary blackberry marry with a bouquet of mocha, caramel, and dark chocolate to create an alluring invitation. The flavors are both creamy and succulent with loads of black currant and toasted oak. The fully integrated tannins express themselves as a viscous mouth coating texture that leads to a lingering finish that seems to go on forever. While the tannins are in check, a few years in the cellar will add an additional dimension of complexity to the wine. Meanwhile, the fruit will be sustained by the wine’s solid acidity until this is accomplished. Grilled steaks, roast beef, braises, and stews are the order of the day for this wine.
